What are the charges on the FlexReturn plan?

FlexReturn is a free subscription plan offering features equivalent to that of our Premium plan with the following prerequisites:

  • Checkout+ must be activated

  • Return shipment labels are generated using PostCo carrier accounts

  • Revenue-sharing on Checkout+ related fees with PostCo


How are FlexReturn charges calculated?

On the FlexReturn plan, you share a percentage of the additional revenue generated through Checkout+ with PostCo in the markets with Checkout+ activated. This includes both the Checkout+ Fees and the Checkout+ Handling Fees.

Definitions

  • Checkout+ Fees - The fee customers pay at checkout to opt in for Checkout+. This makes them eligible for free returns later, depending on your returns policy and Checkout+ settings.

  • Checkout+ Handling Fees - The fee customers pay in addition to return label charges when returning an order if they did not opt in for Checkout+ at checkout.

Checkout+ Fee

Revenue-sharing for the Checkout+ Fee is calculated daily based on Checkout+ orders that were fulfilled the previous day. The charge is processed at 12:00 AM (UTC) and billed directly to your Shopify account.

Example:

  • Revenue-sharing percentage: 30%

  • Checkout+ Fee: USD3.00

  • Number of fulfilled orders opt-in to Checkout+: 19 orders
    (Monday, 10 Nov 2025)

Calculation: USD3.00 x 19 x 30% = USD17.10

PostCo will bill USD17.10 to your Shopify account at 12:00AM (UTC) on Tuesday, 11 Nov 2025.

Checkout+ Handling Fee

Similarly, revenue-sharing for the Checkout+ Handling Fee is calculated daily based on return orders that have been successfully paid for by the customer the previous day. The charge is processed at 12:00 AM (UTC) and billed directly to your Shopify account.

Example:

  • Revenue-sharing percentage: 30%

  • Checkout+ Handling Fee: USD3.90

  • Number of returns with Checkout+ Handling Fees paid: 10 orders
    (Wednesday, 12 Nov 2025)

Calculation: USD3.90 x 10 x 30% = USD11.70

PostCo will bill USD11.70 to your Shopify account at 12:00AM (UTC) on Thursday, 13 Nov 2025.

Frequently asked questions

  1. What happens when I process returns from markets where Checkout+ is not activated?

    For returns processed in markets where Checkout+ is not enabled, you will be billed a standard Non-Checkout+ Return Fee of USD1.00 per return.

  2. Will I incur any FlexReturn charges if I’m on the standard Pro, Premium or Enterprise subscription plans?

    No, the FlexReturn charges are applicable only to brands on PostCo’s FlexReturn plan - your account would not be charged if you’re on our standard Pro, Premium & Enterprise subscription plans.

Checkout+ is included in our standard Pro, Premium, and Enterprise plans, but not on our legacy Starter, Basic, or Plus plans. If you’re on a legacy plan, simply email us at support@postco.co and we’ll help you upgrade to a newer plan.
