Can customers submit a return through their Shopify customer account?
Yes, customers can start a return with a single click from their order history - on your store, customers simply need to log into their Shopify customer account, select their order and directly lodge a return.
This removes the need to manually insert for order details in the returns portal, improving the customer experience.
How this works for my customers?
By setting this up, the "Start a Return" button is added to the Shopify order page in the customer's account - by clicking it, the customer is immediately redirected to the returns portal.
Setting this up
In your Shopify dashboard, navigate to Settings > Checkout and click on 'Customize' where you'd be redirected to the Shopify editor:
Select the 'Orders' page from the drop-down menu in the Shopify editor:
In the left menu, navigate to the 'Apps' tab and click the plus icon (⨁) to add this action to the 'Orders and Order status' pages:
Once the above are completed, don't forget to hit 'Save' before closing the Shopify editor to complete the setup.
